Mission:
To sustainably manage the water resources of California, in cooperation with other agencies, to benefit the state’s people and protect, restore, and enhance the natural and human environments.
As part of DWR’s mission to sustainably manage California’s water, the Northern Region Office brings together engineers, geologists, scientists, and data analysts to support communities across Northern California. We work on groundwater management, flood and drought response, water conservation, climate adaptation, habitat restoration, and more. By partnering with local agencies, Tribes, and community members, we use science and innovation to solve real-world water challenges and protect resources for people and the environment.
